1. About this site
LowFare Lab ("we", "this site") publishes reference information on the lowest one-way airfares and travel guides. We do not sell flights or accept bookings. Bookings and payments are made on the airline or booking sites we link to.
2. Information we use and why
This site has no forms that ask for your name, email address or other personal details. To display and improve the site, we use the following:
- Cookies: we store your language (lang), the departure city you chose (from) and, for visitors from outside Japan, your nearest airport (inb), so the site shows the same settings on your next visit.
- Approximate location: your country and approximate location (estimated from your IP address) are used to choose the language and a nearby departure city or airport. We do not store this information.
- Analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works, but your choices such as the departure city will not be remembered.
3. Affiliate programs and third-party services
We take part in affiliate programs run by Travelpayouts (including Aviasales) and ValueCommerce, so pages on this site contain promotions (advertising). Each page says that it contains affiliate links, and ad sections are labeled "PR". If you buy a product or service after following a link on this site, we may receive a commission. The linked services and affiliate networks may use cookies or similar technologies to track referrals. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
We also use Google Fonts for typography and Cloudflare to deliver the site.
4. About the information we publish (disclaimer)
Fares shown on this site are indicative, based on cached search data from the flight comparison site Aviasales, and change with availability. Actual fares, availability, fees, schedules and sale conditions change constantly and may differ from what we show. Always check the latest information on the booking site or the airline's official website before booking.
We take care to keep the information accurate, complete and up to date, but we do not guarantee it. We are not responsible for any loss, damage or trouble arising from the use of information on this site or of the sites we link to, including bookings, purchases, cancelled or changed trips, and fare differences. Please contact the booking site or airline directly with questions about your booking.
Details of sales, travel information and services in our guides were checked against official sources when each article was written. Please confirm the latest details on the official websites.
5. Visitors from the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR)
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the following applies under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

- What we process and our legal basis: cookies that store your display settings (lang, from, inb) and your approximate location are used only as needed to show the site, on the basis of our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cookies that measure affiliate referrals are used only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Managing consent: for visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, we ask for consent first and do not load the affiliate tracking script until you agree. You can withdraw your consent at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer.
- Retention: display-setting cookies expire after up to 1 year, and your consent choice after up to 6 months.
- International transfers: we are based in Japan, and services such as Cloudflare, Google and Travelpayouts may process information outside the EEA. Japan is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission. Other transfers rely on safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses used by those providers.
- Your rights: you have the right to access, correct and erase your information, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
